A month-by-month home service marketing calendar with promo text, social post, and review ideas for HVAC, plumbing, roofing, pest, cleaning, and more.

By the Snag team · October 14, 2026

Most contractors market when the phone stops ringing. By then it's too late. The shops that stay booked plan a month ahead, so the tune-up text lands before the first heat wave and the gutter post goes up before the leaves drop.

Below is a full-year calendar you can copy. Each month has a promo text idea, social post topics, a review or past-customer move, and callouts by trade. Pick what fits your work and skip the rest.

One rule before you start

Only send promo texts to customers who agreed to get them. A customer who booked a repair agreed to hear about that repair. That's not the same as agreeing to get your spring special. Collect a separate opt-in for marketing texts on your booking form, and honor STOP right away. Our guide to A2P 10DLC for contractors covers the setup.

Social posts and review requests to recent customers are easier. Use those as your base and save promo texts for offers worth reading.

January

Cold weather means burst pipes, dead furnaces, and frozen garage door springs. It's also when people set new-year goals for the house.

  • Promo text: "Cold week ahead. If your furnace is making new noises or you've got pipes on an outside wall, call us before it gets worse."
  • Social posts: How to keep pipes from freezing. What a furnace filter looks like after three months. Your crew working in the snow.
  • Review push: December was busy for heating and plumbing. Ask those customers now while the job is fresh.

Trade callouts:

  • Plumbing: Frozen pipe tips, water heater flushes.
  • HVAC: Heating repairs, filter reminders.
  • Garage door: Cold makes springs and openers fail. Post a "door won't open in the cold" fix.
  • Cleaning: New-year deep clean packages.

February

Slow for many trades. Use it to book spring before your competitors start.

  • Promo text: "Spring fills up fast. Book your spring service now and pick your date before the rush."
  • Social posts: A before-and-after from last spring. Meet the team. A short "what we do in the off-season" post.
  • Past-customer move: Text customers who booked with you last March through May. They already trust you.

Trade callouts:

  • Roofing: Winter damage inspections after storms.
  • Landscaping: Sell spring cleanups and season contracts now.
  • Electrical: Panel upgrades and indoor projects while outdoor work is slow.

March

Spring prep starts. ENERGY STAR recommends checking cooling systems in spring because "contractors get busy once summer and winter come."

  • Promo text: "AC tune-up season is here. Get yours done before the first hot week and skip the wait."
  • Social posts: What a spring AC check covers. Lawn and yard prep tips. Roof check after winter.
  • Past-customer move: Reactivate everyone who had AC work last year.

Trade callouts:

  • HVAC: Spring tune-ups. This is your biggest planned-work month.
  • Pest control: Ants and termites start showing up. Post what to look for.
  • Landscaping: First mows, mulch, and cleanups.
  • Roofing: Spring storm season begins in many areas. Post how to spot damage from the ground.

April

Spring cleaning month. People are outside looking at their homes.

  • Promo text: "Spring cleaning time. Reply to this text and we'll get you on the schedule this month."
  • Social posts: Gutter before-and-after. A deep clean time-lapse. A yard transformation.
  • Review push: Your first spring jobs are done. Ask those customers for reviews before the season gets crazy.

Trade callouts:

  • Cleaning: Spring deep cleans and move-out cleans.
  • Plumbing: Outdoor spigot and sprinkler checks.
  • Garage door: Spring tune-ups and lubrication.

May

Outdoor season. May is also National Electrical Safety Month, run each year by the Electrical Safety Foundation International.

  • Promo text: "Mosquito and ant season is starting. Ask about our seasonal plan before summer."
  • Social posts: Electrical safety tips for outdoor outlets and extension cords. Patio and yard work. Pest prevention tips.
  • Past-customer move: Ask happy customers for referrals. Spring jobs are done and they're happy with the results.

Trade callouts:

  • Electrical: Safety month posts, outdoor lighting, EV charger installs.
  • Pest control: Seasonal plans and mosquito service.
  • Landscaping: Irrigation checks and planting.

June

The heat shows up. Systems that limped through spring start failing.

  • Promo text: "Hot week coming. If your AC is running nonstop or blowing warm, text us back and we'll get you in."
  • Social posts: Signs your AC needs service. Your crew on a hot day. A quick "change your filter" reminder. ENERGY STAR advises checking filters monthly.
  • Review move: Share recent reviews on social. It shows you're busy and trusted.

Trade callouts:

  • HVAC: Repairs and replacements. Keep promos short. You're already busy.
  • Pest control: Wasps, mosquitoes, ants.
  • Cleaning: Summer move season.

July

Peak heat and storm season in much of the country. Demand is high. Your job is to answer every call.

  • Promo text: Skip promos if you're full. If not: "We have openings this week for AC repair. Reply to book."
  • Social posts: Storm damage photos and what to do after a storm. Emergency availability. Team appreciation.
  • Review push: Mid-season review request to June and July customers.

Trade callouts:

  • Roofing: Storm damage inspections.
  • HVAC: Emergency repairs.
  • Electrical: Surge protection after storms.
  • Plumbing: Sump pump checks before heavy rain.

This is when missed-call text-back pays off most. Every call you can't pick up is a homeowner who will try the next name on Google.

August

Back to school. Families are home less and planning for fall.

  • Promo text: "Fall booking is open. Get your spot before September fills up."
  • Social posts: Back-to-school home checklist. A big summer job you finished. Your slow-season maintenance plan.
  • Past-customer move: Text last year's fall customers about booking early.

Trade callouts:

  • Cleaning: Back-to-school cleans.
  • Garage door: Families use the door more in the fall. Push safety checks.
  • Landscaping: Fall aeration and seeding.

September

Fall prep. Same ENERGY STAR advice, flipped: check the heating system in the fall.

  • Promo text: "Furnace tune-up time. Get it checked before the first cold night."
  • Social posts: What a furnace check covers. Fall yard prep. Gutter cleaning signs.
  • Past-customer move: Reactivate everyone who had heating work last year.

Trade callouts:

  • HVAC: Fall tune-ups. Second biggest planned-work month.
  • Pest control: Mice and rodents look for a way inside as it cools down.
  • Roofing: Inspections before winter.

October

Leaves drop and the house gets ready for winter. Fire Prevention Week, sponsored by the NFPA, is observed each October during the week of October 9.

  • Promo text: "Gutters full? Book a fall cleaning before the rain and freeze."
  • Social posts: Smoke and CO detector reminders during Fire Prevention Week. Gutter before-and-after. A Halloween crew photo.
  • Review push: Fall rush is wrapping up. Ask for reviews. Review requests work best within a day or two of the job.

Trade callouts:

  • Electrical: Detector installs and fire safety checks.
  • Garage door: Weather seals before winter.
  • Plumbing: Outdoor faucet shutoff and winterizing.
  • Landscaping: Leaf cleanup and winterizing irrigation.

November

Holidays are coming. People want their homes ready for guests.

  • Promo text: "Hosting this year? Book your pre-holiday cleaning before the calendar fills."
  • Social posts: Pre-holiday home checklist. A thank-you post for your customers. Your crew's favorite job of the year.
  • Past-customer move: Send a plain thank-you text to customers who opted in. No offer. Just thanks.

Trade callouts:

  • Cleaning: Pre-holiday deep cleans. Book early.
  • Plumbing: Big holiday meals put grease and food scraps down the drain. Post a "don't pour grease down the sink" tip.
  • Electrical: Holiday lighting safety.
  • HVAC: Heating checks before family visits.

December

Slow for many trades. Good time to set up next year.

  • Promo text: "Give the gift of a clean house or a tuned-up furnace. Gift certificates available. Reply for details."
  • Social posts: Year in review. Top jobs of the year. Holiday hours.
  • Review push: Ask your best customers of the year for a review. Those are your strongest ones.

Trade callouts:

  • HVAC and plumbing: Sell maintenance plans for next year.
  • Pest control: Rodent season. Post exclusion work.
  • Roofing: Ice dam and snow load tips in cold areas.

How to actually run this

A calendar only works if it runs every month. Keep it simple:

  1. Pick one promo text a month at most. More than that and people opt out.
  2. Post two or three times a week. Real job photos beat stock images every time. If you can't keep up, a social media posting service can handle it.
  3. Ask for reviews after every job, not just during review pushes. The pushes are for catching anyone you missed.
  4. Keep a list of past customers by service. "Everyone who had AC work last year" is the most useful list you can have.
  5. Adjust for your area. Spring in Arizona isn't spring in Minnesota. Shift the dates to match your local weather.

Let Snag run the calendar

Snag sends seasonal promo and referral texts to customers who opted in, posts 12 social posts a month, sends review requests after every job, and texts back missed calls. It's $197 a month for the first six months, then $297, no setup fee, month to month. See pricing.

Quick answers

For each month: one promo or reminder to past customers, a few social post topics tied to the season, and a review push after your busy stretch. Plan it a month ahead so offers go out before demand peaks, not during it.
